Asus Teases Smartphone-Tablet Combo, More
Asus has posted teaser pics on Facebook for three new devices IT bequeath introduce at Computex the week of Crataegus oxycantha 30: a smartphone-tablet mystery device, a revamped Eee PC netbook, and "a pill that jumps extinct at you."
Teasers never existence very clear, we'atomic number 75 socialist to suppose what these mobile innovations real are. Perhaps most challenging of the approaching Asus devices appears to be a pad of paper and phone combo — perhaps in the spirit of Motorola's dockable Atrix, only Asus' smartphone may dock into the pad rather than a keyboard. The teaser image on Asus' Facebook pageboy currently just says "Slog or Call?" but otherwise versions of this simulacrum posted around the net also have a line beneath that says "Wherefore not some?"
Asus is no stranger to making jazz band/docking devices, with the well-received Asus Eee Pad Transformer dockable tablet already under its belt.
The Eee PC netbook looks like it's getting a prima upgrade. "The next evolution of the Eee Microcomputer" might be a slimmer and prettier netbook. It might run Linux. Heck, it could even be a Chromebook. Entirely we know is that it will germinate-something probably necessary for the troupe to combat flat netbook gross sales this year. The Eee PC organism one of the most favourite netbooks, though, let's hope Asus will keep the Eee PC's low cost and long electric battery life in its evolved version.
Finally, there's this Asus tab that will stick out retired at America. What does that contemptible? Our assumption is — you guessed information technology — 3D. If that's the grammatical case, perhaps Asus has patterned away how to eliminate the need for 3D glasses and to sustenance the cost down (unlike LG's G-Slate tablet which has nice specs and can capture 3D picture, but also a high cost and requires the glasses for wake).
Rule-breaking? Innovations beyond expectations? We'll see in evenhanded few years.
